Sweetland of Liberty

Description:

Made for Barbara Sweetland who came to America from Canada to Marry her American Husband. Her home is decorated in Americana. She was very specific that the maple leaf looked realistic to represent her Canada. She visited the shop while I was quilting a patriotic quilt for my Nephew. She said "I gotta have one of those" when she told me her name was 'Sweetland' I understood why I DID have to make a quilt just for her and to put her family name on it. When she returned the next year with her daughter they didn't know I had made them a quilt. The daughter emphasized that her name was Sweetland I just smiled and showed them the quilt I had secretly made with their name at the top. Both were thrilled with the finished product.
