These two quilts were designed by a customer from Alabama. She had suffered a home fire and was trying to add homemade items to her now home.
She bought a premade turquoise quilt and selected fabrics from my shop and said make these into lap quilts for me please. I questioned and texted her on design and quilting ideas.
I sketched one of the quilts on graph paper then made it out of fabric. Melanie said she wanted pieced blocks in each corner and a medallion center with an abstract applique in the center. She requested a striped border.
